Booking Conditions

Terms and Conditions for the  Rental of Bluestone Church, St Fillans, Perthshire, PH6 2ND.  

1. By making a booking, either in writing, or by e-mail you are confirming that you have read and understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions, and that you have therefore entered into a legal contract with the Owners of Bluestone Church

These Terms & Conditions are specific to 2021 and 2022 at present, as they cover Coronavirus special arrangements. 

  • Rental period is 7 nights, offered Bi-Weekly 
  • £1,050 for 7 nights.   Equates to £150 per night 
  • Saturday arrival - Saturday departure 
  • Your choice of early entry and late departure times
  • An opportunity to add on up to 2 more nights, if desired, in discussion with the Owner at the rate of £150 per night.
  • 50% with Booking Form to secure your dates 
  • 50% Balance due 8 weeks prior to your arrival 
  • In the event that we do not receive the balance in full by the due date, we reserve the right to declare the contract void, and the deposit will be forfeited.
  • If a booking is made (less than 8 weeks before the holiday)
    The full rental will be due and payable at the time of booking.


2. Our Covid-19 Lockdown Refund Guarantee :

If your holiday has to be cancelled due to any national, regional, or local lockdown we guarantee that you may either:

  • Postpone your booking and transfer to a future date at no extra cost.
  • Or, if re-booking is just not suitable, you will be entitled to a full refund. 

3. Cancelling your holiday due to Covid-19 or other illness

We are not obligated to offer any refund under these circumstances.   Personal Holiday Insurance Policies would normally cover you in this event.   However, in fairness to our guests we would do our best to try to re-sell your holiday dates if possible and offer you a refund amount at our discretion.

4. Falling ill with Covid – whilst at Bluestone Church

If any guest becomes unwell with Covid-19 symptoms, or have tested positive:

  • They are to immediately self-isolate to minimise the risk of further transmission.
  •  Arrange an NHS test as soon as possible, and to return home if they reasonably can.
  • You must contact us to inform us of the situation and discuss whether:
  • You are all able to return home immediately, or whether it is possible to extend your stay.
  • If it is deemed essential that your stay be extended beyond your normal departure date:
  • The cost of any subsequent days will be charged at the rate of £200 per day
  • Other Additional charges: £250 cleaning fee on exit
  • Plus, any additional laundry costs. 

5. Holiday Dates
The holiday dates will be those stated in our confirmation of your booking, which we will send to you by post, fax or e-mail.

6. Occupancy

  • The 'contract' allows you to occupy the accommodation for a holiday only and, in terms of section 12(2) and (schedule 4, paragraph 8) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 is not an 'assured tenancy'.
  • The 'booking agreement' confers a right to occupy the accommodation for the agreed period only.
  • The' person' named as 'party leader' on the booking form must personally stay at the accommodation throughout the holiday and is solely responsible for the whole party.
  • Assignees and sub-tenants are prohibited.
  • Only those 'named on the booking form' may stay at the property.
  • 'Occupancy' by anyone other than the two to four persons named on the booking form will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances, and will only with the prior written consent of the Owners.

7.  Included in the Rental Rate

  • The exclusive use of Bluestone Church, furnishings and facilities, as follows:
  • Fully equipped Kitchen
  • Outdoor furniture and bar-b-que
  • Beds, linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchenware
  • All utilities
  • Unlimited free Wi-Fi 
  • £1 worth of telephone calls per week, over this amount will be charged back to you. 
  • Household cleaning materials
  • Electricity and Logs for the Wood burner 
  • Housekeeper cleaning costs

8. Liability for Loss Damage or Injury

  • 'Hirer's liability' - he person named on the booking form as the party leader undertakes to indemnify the Owners of Bluestone Church against any loss, damage or injury sustained to the property or persons as a result of any breach of these conditions or arising from the fault of you or any member of your party.
  • 'Owner's Liability' - The Owners of Bluestone Church take no responsibility for loss, damage or injury to you or any of your party as a consequence of this Agreement or the occupancy following thereon, as far as the law allows. The Owners warrant that they have appropriate third-party insurance in place. No responsibility can be taken for personal property and vehicles which are left at the Hirer's own risk.

9. Right of Access

  • The Owners of Bluestone Church, their Housekeeper, their Agent, or whomsoever the Owners direct, reserve the right to enter the property at any reasonable time for all reasonable purposes.
  • The Owners reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, who in the judgement of the Housekeeper is not suitable to take charge of the property. In any such a case The Owners reserve the right to void the contract and any refund would be at their discretion.
  • The Owners reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time and demand the immediate removal of any persons not complying with the conditions of hire, or for unreasonable behaviour, causing offence, damage to property, or conducting themselves in a manner detrimental to personnel or property. In any such a case The Owners reserve the right to void the contract and any refund would be at their discretion.

10. Housekeeping

  • General Cleanliness - It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that the fabric, furniture and fixtures of Bluestone Church are kept in good and clean order for the duration of the hire, allowing for fair wear and tear. Upon departure the Hirer is expected to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Accidental damages, losses or breakages are to be reported to the Housekeeper as soon as possible.  We do not ask guests for an annoying damages deposit, and we accept that some minor breakages are to be expected.  If replacement costs of any damaged item is deemed to over £20 or more, we reserve the right to charge-back to the party leader named on the booking form, towards the costs of any repair and/or replacement of any property or household items due to accidental damage, loss, spillage or breakages occurring during your stay for all repairs, losses or replacements necessitated by the negligent act or omission caused by any of your party or guests.
  • If the 'Owner' incurs any extra cleaning costs, at the discretion of the Housekeeper, that are necessary over and above the anticipated routine change-over cleaning costs of £120, any additional cleaning costs will be recharged to the 'Party Leader' named on he Booking Form by way of an Invoice that he or she will be liable for. 

11.   Pets

  • Dogs, cats, or an other pet animals are not permitted. 
  • No exceptions will be allowed

12. Smoking

  • No Smoking allowed inside Bluestone Church

13.  Accuracy of Information

  • Any advertising material is as accurate as possible but cannot be guaranteed, nor do any descriptions form any contract.
  • Bluestone Church reserves the right to alter or improve any terms and conditions, prices, brochures or website without notice

14. Complaints

  • You should find your accommodation clean, and comfortable and with all the utilities in working order. Our aim is to ensure that you have an enjoyable holiday. If you have cause for complaint, which requires immediate attention, you should contact the Housekeeper, who is resident locally, who will do everything possible to remedy your complaint.  Or, if there is still an issue, please contact the Owner straight away, who will do all that is possible to resolve for you.
